The Mystery of the Kingdom of God

The Mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven

Mark 4:11  And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God

Matthew 13:11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven...

Luke 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God...

The word mysteries occurs only 5 times in the Bible, only in the New Testament.

The word mystery occurs only 22 times in the Bible, only in the New Testament.

Why only in the N. T.?  Because it was a mystery in the Old Testament!

Romans 11:25  For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

            (2nd Coming)

How do you know this is referring to the 2nd coming?

Every time the seventh angel sounds in the book of Revelation, he heralds the

 2nd Coming.

Revelation 10:7  But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Revelation 11:15  And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 16:17  And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

Ephesians 3:9  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God

Ephesians 3:10  To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

1 Corinthians 2:7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world

Ephesians 1:9  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will…

Ephesians 5:32  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Ephesians 6:19  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel (of the church age),

Colossians 1:26  Even the mystery (of the church age)  which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Colossians 1:27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Mysteries of God

1 Corinthians 4:1  Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

God works in mysteries from Adam to the 2nd coming, when the King of the Jews, the King over the Kingdom of God, and the Kingdom of Heaven will set up his kingdom, upon which he will reign forever.

Why does he do this?

To overcome man’s excuses to justify his sin.

God works through dispensations, and gives man the test to show him he can’t justify his sin!

1 Corinthians 13:2  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
